Sixpoint Diesel

So, today was fun. Well, it started off by being really frustrating since the networks are down at work and I pretty much depend on the networks to do stuff. Then, I had my first day of Fire Academy tonight. It started by being screamed at, which I’m shockingly okay with and pretty much expected. Then, we got told what we could and could not do. Saturday, I just have to go from 0800-1000, since I have CPR, which is nice. So, I think it’s definitely time for a brew.

ABV: 6.30%

Style: American Stout

Trivia: This beer has 60-62 IBUs.

Random: I had a guy at work today say that he would take $200 to do the Fear Factor stunt that isn’t allowed to air on television. If you don’t know what it is, go here…but don’t say that I didn’t warn you.

This brew poured with a thick light brown head on a deep brown, almost black body. The head dissipated at a moderate speed and left some limited lacing on the glass. About an eighth of an inch of head remained on top throughout. The carbonation was slightly visible and looked to be on the moderate side. On the nose, the first thing that came through was some coffee and roasted hops. But, a bit of floral and herbal hops came through after a few sniffs. On the taste, the first thing that I got was the roasted malts, but the herbal notes came through right after with a bit of pine. The body is towards the thinner side for a stout with milder carbonation than expected. The finish lasted for awhile with the hops and a bit of roasted malts. Honestly, not what I expected. It was an alright brew, but nothing I’d search out again.

Untappd Rating: 3.0/5.0
