Unibroue Blonde de Chambly

This was the second brew that I had at Twin Light. According to the owner, this beer is one that is usually only available in Canada. It was actually incredibly difficult to find any information about this beer online. The label on the tap handle was really pretty with a blond girl on it. I love their label art. It really fits their beers. So, anyways onto the brew.

ABV: 5.5%

Style: Saison/Farmhouse Ale

Trivia: According to the brewery website the beer should have the following flavors, “Crisp acidity of lemongrass followed by sweet honey and notes of pepper, with a sharp, floral finish.”

Random: The Phillies are really annoying me this year. They need to get their act together.

This brew poured with half a finger of white head that dissipated quickly and left no lacing on the glass. The body was a hazy, golden yellow color with moderate carbonation visible through the cloudiness. The nose had notes of lemongrass, lemon and some bready yeast. It was really bright. The taste was very light and crisp. I got a decent amount of lemon citrus as well. The finish was relatively long with lemongrass. The body was on the light side with moderate carbonation. I was really impressed by this one. It was a flavorful saison that brought in lemongrass (which I love) and bready yeast and citrus, but remained light and crisp and was a very easy drinker. This was a brew that went down easy and I would search out again in a second. Go find this one!
