Schneider Weisse Tap 4 Mein Grunes

Posted: June 9, 2012 in Hefeweizen, Reviews, Weisses Bräuhaus G. Schneider & Sohn GmbH

This was the second brew that I had at Brauhaus. And yes, I had to get a liter. I’ve never ordered a liter of beer, mostly because I hate when beer gets too warm. But, I figured this time, I should just for fun. I have to say, the food this time was even better than the last time I went. If you’re ever around South Street, you have to go to this place. So, onto the beer.

ABV: 6.2%

Style: Hefeweizen

Trivia: This is a certified organic wheat beer.

Random: This glass was insanely heavy. It made it a bit hard to drink.

This brew poured with a one finger, white head that dissipated slowly and left no lacing on the gigantic glass. The body was a hazy orange color with no visible carbonation due to the haziness. The nose was orange and wheat and was really pleasant. The taste was filled with banana, citrus, wheat and spice (specifically coriander and clove). The flavors were spot on and absolutely amazing. The body was medium with generous carbonation. The finish was lengthy and citrusy. Honestly, I didn’t expect this brew to be as good as it was. I would definitely have this again as it was probably one of the best hefeweizens I’ve ever had.
