Leffe Blonde

I don’t even remember when I picked this beer up. I do remember that the store had very little choices, so I really couldn’t be picky. Add to that, how many beers I’ve reviewed and it can be very challenging to find a brew that I haven’t had before. I feel even worse for Katie, who as I’ve mentioned before, checks the blog every single time when she goes to grab beer. So, onto this brew that I really haven’t heard or read much about.

ABV: 6.6%

Style: Belgian Pale Ale

Trivia: This is the flagship beer of the brewery. It’s shown in a very cute glass on the website.

Random: Could the Eagles fumble the ball more? This is freaking ridiculous. And yes, I’m screaming at the computer as I type this.

Yes, I’m aware this is the wrong glass. As you can guess, this was a beer at Kate’s house. Anyways, it poured with a hugely thick and pure white head that looked just like whipped egg whites. It took forever to dissipate. Seriously. I read the entirety of “War and Peace” while it dissipated. When it finally went away, it left lots of lacing on the glass. The body was a clear, light orange color with lots of carbonation visible throughout. The nose was teeming with lemon and yeast. The taste was much of the same. I got lemon, orange, and Belgian yeast. I don’t know if it’s because I haven’t had a Belgian in awhile, but this really hit the spot. The body was thick for the style with lots of carbonation. The finish was long and yeasty. I really enjoyed this one. It wasn’t the best that I’ve had for the style, but it was solid. I would have this one again.
