This is one of the beers that my parents brought back for me when they went antiquing out-of-state. When I was reviewing another one of their beers, I was reading a press release that came out that day that they are now distributing in New Jersey. This news makes me very happy. The three beers that I’ve had from them are solid and standouts in their styles. To be able to get them whenever I want? Score!
Style: American Pale Ale
Trivia: According to the brewery website, “Our original hoppy American ale. Dry, clean, well-balanced with generous dose of American hops.”
Random: This is the beer that is first going to be distributed in New Jersey.
Oh Maine Beer Company, how you can do no wrong in my eyes. I was seriously excited to pour this one. When I did, I got a huge pure white head that was fluffy and three fingers high. The head dissipated slowly and left some lacing on the glass. The body was a clear, straw yellow color with heavy carbonation. The nose was really clean and had notes of lemon and grapefruit. The taste had a few more notes than the nose. I got lemon, grapefruit, citrus zest and pepper. After a few sips, some malt sweetness came through at the end. The flavors were pretty strong, but worked very well together. The body was a medium thickness with heavy carbonation. The finish was long with some caramel malt. This was just an easy drinking, seriously flavorful pale ale. I would definitely have this beer again!
