We’re about halfway through the finale of “So You Think You Can Dance” and they have Ciara on the show to inspire the dancers. I wasn’t aware that she was relevant to dancing, much less music (hint: she’s not). Anyways, this beer was one the other half picked up for me and it’s from Green Flash!
Style: American IPA
Trivia: According to the brewery website, “Our Citra Session™ IPA is brewed with high-quality Marris Otter and Vienna malt but the flavor is dominated by the Citra hops introduced throughout the boil and again in the dry hop for maximum aroma intensity. Notes of lemon, orange and grapefruit make this hop-laden brew a perfectly potable summer session IPA.”
Random: Football starts tomorrow. I’m very excited.
This brew poured with a thin, three finger pure white head that dissipated slowly and left some lacing on the glass. The body was a clear, straw yellow color with moderate carbonation visible. The nose was filled with citrus and was really bright. I got a lot of fresh grapefruit, Meyer lemon and grass. The taste was an amplified version of the nose. I got grapefruit and grass first, then some bready malt. Lemon came through as well with a touch of pine sap and herbs. The body was on the medium side with moderate carbonation, which was surprising given the low ABV on this. The finish was long and filled with citrus and generous bitterness. I was really impressed with this one and would definitely have it again. This is another great beer from Green Flash.
