The other half has been at Comic-con in the city all weekend. This means that I have the entire apartment to myself to watch football. As fun as that sounds, I do miss our Sunday routine and making brunch. The only positive to this is that I can scream at the television as much as I want. This was a beer that I opened for Val earlier this week that she let me try. Let’s see how it went.
Style: American Pale Lager
Trivia: According to the brewery website, “This traditional, premium golden lager is inspired our-original recipe from 1909. Still the local favorite, our distinctive blonde-style brew has a crisp taste that’s slightly sweet and always refreshing. One sip will take you back and treat you right.”
Random: They are already selling Christmas themed things on QVC. It’s still October!
This beer poured with a one finger, white head that dissipated quickly and left no lacing on the glass. The body was a clear, straw yellow color with generous carbonation. It looked like a typical macro. There wasn’t much to the nose, a little bit of grain and corn without much else. The taste was also very light. It had some corn and malt and barley without much else. The body was on the thin side with heavy carbonation. The finish was quick with malt. I wasn’t a huge fan of this beer, but I have qualms with the style. I wouldn’t have it again, but the other half said in her opinion, it wasn’t that bad and she drank it without any complaints.
