I picked this beer up at the end of the summer and stuck it in my bomber chiller. I completely forgot about it, which is why I’m drinking a summer seasonal way out of season. I assume that it would be a better beer fresh, so if I see it again, I will give it a try.
Style: Saison/Farmhouse Ale
Trivia: According to the brewery website, “This beer celebrates ‘La Bealtaine’, the Celtic festival of the summer solstice. Somewhere along the way, the beer gained the more easy to pronounce nickname ‘Hazy Jane’. Jane is a wheat saison finished with a blend of citrusy American and Japanese hops, then dry-hopped with the aromatic, noble Tettnang hop.”
Random: I really wish Mystic would distribute here. Their beers are always solid.
This beer poured with a four finger, pure white head that dissipated very slowly. It left a lot of lacing on my Tree House Teku glass. The body was a hazy, light orange with high carbonation visible. The nose started with yeast and then quickly went into Sorachi Ace hops and citrus. Lemon zest was there as well. The taste had a lot of yeast as well, with some coriander as well. The Sorachi Ace hops came through next with lemongrass and citrus zest. The body was thick for the style with high carbonation. It had a long and sticky finish with lemongrass and citrus zest. The bomber was $9.99, which was $.45 per ounce. This was a really nice beer that I would have again.
