Three Floyds YumYum

Posted: May 31, 2017 in American Pale Ale, Reviews, Three Floyds Brewing Co. / Brewery & Pub

I managed to find a craft beer bar that was between my work site and my hotel. They had 20 taps and rotated them pretty often. They also had this beer on tap my first day there, so I took it as a good omen, especially since I was on the hunt for Three Floyds beers.

ABV: 5.5%

Style: American Pale Ale

Trivia: According to the brewery website, “Welcome to flavor country. This Pale Ale has just the right malt backbone to support an explosive juicy hop profile. Derived from a new blend of proprietary hops. We hope you’ll enjoy it. Cheers!”

Random: This beer came in at 63 IBUs.

The beer poured with a half a finger of thick white head that dissipated slowly. The head almost looked like wet, white bread. The body was very hazy and yellow in color. I couldn’t see anything through it. There was only slightly carbonation visible because of the haziness. The nose was really grassy with a lot of pine. It was more like an IPA than a pale ale. It also had a lot of tropical fruit. The taste was awesome. It was really juicy and grassy and hoppy. There was mango along with pineapple and a touch of malt at the end. It had a medium thick body with high carbonation. The finish was lengthy with tropical fruit. This beer was just outstanding. The only bad thing is that I can’t get it here. If you can get this beer, do so as quickly as possible.
