As I mentioned awhile ago, Val bought me a ping-pong table because I love playing. The cats love being underneath it and chasing the balls. I also love that it makes a perfect table to fold clean laundry on.
Trivia: According to mybeerbuzz.blogspot.com, “Today we get our fist look at a new collaboration coming from Brewery Ommegang (Phil Leinhart) and Urban Chestnut (Florian Kuplent). This Collaboration 2016 release will be a Doppelbock Ale based on Urban Chestnut’s doppelbock and using Ommegang’s Belgian house yeast. Urban Chestnut will also brew a version of Ommegang’s Belgian-style dubbel using their signature house lager yeast. This beer hits 7.5%-AbV and this is a 12oz bottle.”
Random: Val bought me fuzzy socks that are perfect when it gets cold in the house.
The beer poured with a three finger, cream-colored head. It dissipated quickly and left a lot of lacing on the glass. The body was cloudy and mahogany colored with light carbonation visible. The nose was filled with nuttiness and sticky caramel along with candi sugar. It had a touch of hand soap along with Belgian yeast. The taste was also quite nutty with the same caramel and candi sugar. It also had a touch of dough and light raisin flavor. It wasn’t overly sweet though, and I would have preferred a little more sweetness. The booze was apparent on this one. It had a thick body with moderate carbonation. The finish was quick with dough and Belgian yeast. The bottle was $3, which broke down to $.25 per ounce. I wasn’t a big fan of this beer. I’m not normally a fan of sweetness, but this beer needed it to be dialed up a bit.
