Lancaster Brewing Company Blue Trail Lemonade Blueberry Shandy

The weather here is just crazy. It snowed the day after we came home from Hawaii. I even got off the plane in shorts! With the Spring coming, that means that I have to start cleaning up the lawn and get to planting. Anyways, this is a beer that Val picked out. Let’s see how it was.

ABV: 5%

Style: Fruit/Vegetable Beer

Trivia: According to the brewery website, “Just how awesome can a Shandy be? We use natural lemon and blueberry flavor, with pure cane sugar, for a zesty, refreshing and incredibly uplifting experience in taste!”

Random: I can’t wait for blueberries to be in season. They’re one of my favorites, especially when I get them from a farmers market.

This beer poured with a full finger of slightly off white head. It dissipated quickly and left some lacing on the glass. The body was mildly cloudy and bright orange. There was a lot of carbonation visible. The nose was filled with lemon juice, lemon candy and lemon-lime soda. There was very little blueberry in the nose. The taste was very similar. Lemon was the dominant flavor. It had a lot of lemon juice, lemon candy and lemon zest. There was some blueberry notes as the end of the sip, but it was very mild. The body was light with a lot of carbonation. The finish was instant with lemon zest. A can of this was $1.33, which came to $.11 per ounce. This was a solid shandy that I would bring to a barbecue in the Summer.

Untappd Rating: 3.5/5.0
