This beer is one that Val picked out, since she really liked the Biscotti Break series. Let’s see how it was.
Style: American Double/Imperial Stout
Trivia: According to the brewery website, “We Have All good intentions to disturb, disorder and enlighten you with unforgettable beer after beer. Because We are so much in love with good taste, all the beers from Evil Twin are prepared in 10 of the best breweries around the world. Exclusively hand picked to please you with delicate, funky, extreme and by all means rare flavors. Maybe not the easiest way, but certainly the most fun!!! One More Thing A clever man once said: ‘Stay thirsty… stay foolish.’ That sounds like our vision, just with a tad less attitude.”
Random: The brewery had no information about this beer on their website.
The brew poured with less than a finger of tan head that went away by the time I went to take the picture. The body was an inky black with no visible carbonation due to the color. The nose was filled with milk chocolate, espresso and raspberry extract at the end. The taste was interesting. It had the milk chocolate and espresso that I picked up in the nose, but also had this umami characteristic that was difficult to describe. The raspberry note was stronger than the nose, but was definitely towards to side of extract. The booze was heavy on this one. It had a thick body with light carbonation. The finish was sticky and lengthy with raspberry and chocolate. A bomber of this was $15.99, which came to $.73 per ounce. I thought this beer was interesting, but given how high the price point was, I wouldn’t have this again.
