Lazy Magnolia Bramblin’ Man

Val and I have been hanging out on the couch all day and the cats have been laying in their boxes by the window. Despite how large our orange cats have gotten, they still manage to fit in a box with Angel. They did manage to get up when we put out a cheese plate.

ABV: 6%

Style: Berliner Weissbier

Trivia: According to the brewery website, “Mississippi is home to more than just great beer. We’ve got great food and even better tunes. Bramblin’ Man is a toast to days past and classic country. This Bavarian Wheat blended with a Sour Blackberry Ale will be a great addition to any celebration.”

Random: This beer comes in at 10 IBUs.

The beer poured with a one finger, ecru colored head. It dissipated quickly and left no lacing on the glass. The body was clear with little carbonation visible. It was a reddish-brown in color. The nose was not very fragrant. It had notes of wheat and blackberry extract. The taste was off-putting to say the least. It was exceptionally acidic with blackberry extract. Wheat was there as well. It had peppercorns as well. None of the flavors worked well together. The body was heavier than necessary with light carbonation. The finish was unfortunately lengthy with acid and blackberry extract. This beer managed to get lost in the back of the fridge, so I don’t recall how much I paid for it. Either way, I didn’t like this beer at all. I definitely won’t be having it again.
