Brew Gentlemen Final Colossus

This was the second beer that I had while at Brew Gentlemen. If you find yourself in the Pittsburgh area, it is definitely worth a stop there.

ABV: 8.2%

Style: American Double/Imperial IPA

Trivia: According to the brewery website, “Beer is an experience that goes far beyond what’s in the glass – it’s the sum of all the small details that surround it. That’s why we’ve worked to create a comfortable and elegant brewery and taproom in which to have the best experience possible with our beer, with our space, and with us. Our brewery is located in the historic steel town of Braddock, Pennsylvania. Just down the Monongahela River from nearby Pittsburgh, Braddock was once a booming commercial destination and the heart of Andrew Carnegie’s steel empire. Our taproom offers draft beer for consumption on site, as well as beer to go. While we don’t serve food, we regularly host mobile food vendors. Check out our online menu for an up-to-date draft list, and our food page for our weekly mobile food schedule.”

Random: There was a really nice jewelry store down the street from the brewery.

The beer poured with a one finger, pure white head. It dissipated slowly and left a lot of lacing on the glass. The body was hazy and bright yellow in color. There was no visible carbonation due to the cloudiness. The nose had some dank hops up front that were quickly countered by a bit of grapefruit and citrus. The taste started with the same dank hops with some pine and then went into grapefruit segments and citrus. The alcohol was well hidden. The body was creamy and not too heavy with lighter carbonation. It had a lengthy and oily finish with grapefruit. This beer was another standout that is worth searching out for.
