Dark City Second & Main

I just watched an episode of “Rick and Morty” from season 2. They completely changed the introduction and now have a warning that it’s rated “mature.” Anyone who tunes into the show for longer than 3 minutes can figure out that this is definitely a cartoon for adults. I’ve always been a fan of adult cartoons. One of my favorites is “Family Guy,” although I haven’t watched it in years.

ABV: 7.2%

Style: American IPA

Trivia: According to the brewery website, “Dark City Brewing Company offers an eclectic selection of year round & semiannual beers, as well as limited release/specialty beers. Below you will find a list of all of our beers, when they are released & the prices in our tasting room. Tasting room hours change seasonally (noted on our Contact page along with our address & brewery contact information.)”

Random: I’ve visited the brewery once and the taproom is really pretty. It had a lot of shiplap.

The beer poured with a very loose, two finger, white head. It dissipated at a moderate pace and left very little lacing on the glass. The nose was very tart and had some passionfruit and white vinegar. The taste was also very tart. It had some grass and passionfruit as well, but the tartness was almost overwhelming. It also had a marked booze note. The body was heavier than I expected with intense carbonation. It had a lengthy finish with tartness. I was not a huge fan of this beer, but I’m glad I got to try it.

Untappd Rating: 3.0/5.0
