Wolters Pilsener

In my theme of reading more books, I got through another one over the weekend. I finished Mayor Pete’s book over the weekend and found it really interesting. Although I found it to be written to appeal to possible votes, I did find it to be really well-written and it moved relatively quickly. If you had an interest in politics, I would recommend giving it a read.

ABV: 4.9%

Style: German Pilsener

Trivia: According to wikipedia.com, “Pilsner (also pilsener or simply pils) is a type of pale lager. It takes its name from the Czech city of Pilsen, where it was first produced in 1842 by Bavarian brewer Josef Groll from local ingredients. The world’s first blond lager, the original Pilsner Urquell, is still produced there today.”

Random: I could not find any information about the brewery online.

The beer poured with a huge, three finger, white head. It was fluffy and dissipated at a moderate pace. It left a lot of lacing on the glass. The body was a clear, straw-yellow color with a lot of carbonation visible. The nose was filled with river stones, mineral water and grain. The taste was much of the same. It had a lot of grain up front with mineral water, but had a lot of sweetness, which was off-putting. The body was on the lighter side with a lot of carbonation. It had a quick finish with the sweetness and grain. I wasn’t a huge fan of this beer and wouldn’t have it again.
