This beer is one that Val picked up because she liked the label. Once she took a sip, she quickly remembered that she does not enjoy sour beers.

Trivia: According to the brewery website, “Plan Bee Farm Brewery expanded its operation in 2015 to a 25 acre farm in Poughkeepsie! We closed on the property May 5, 2015 and started construction the first week of August. We converted the barn build in the 1830’s to the current brewery. Construction was concluded in February and we were brewing our first batches in March! We just celebrated our one year anniversary at the new farm this May 5, 2016. We wanted to take a moment to reflect on the past year while we look ahead at the year to come!”

The brew poured with absolutely no head. The body was very hazy and bright reddish-brown in color. There was no carbonation visible due to the cloudiness. The nose started with some minerality and quickly went into floral notes and red wine vinegar. The taste started with some tart fruit. I picked up a bit of under ripe grape and the same red wine vinegar. The minerality was not as present in the taste as it was the nose. It had some grape must as well. The body was on the lighter side with generous carbonation. The finish was lengthy with funk. I bought this beer awhile ago and stored it in the back of the fridge, so I don’t have any commentary as to how much it was. I thought this beer was good, but need a little more fruit. Despite that, I would have it again, especially to pair with cheese.
