Proclamation Derivative: Galaxy

This beer came highly recommended to me from the beer store manager in Cranbury.

ABV: 6%

Style: American Pale Ale

Trivia: According to the brewery website, “We opened the doors of our first location in West Kingston, RI in February of 2013. Three and a half years later we took the 20 minute trek north to Warwick, RI. Our new brewery is a 15,000 square foot beast with over 5x our West Kingston production capacity. This new facility features a 2,000 square foot barrel aging and wood cellar for sour and wild ales, as well as a 3,000 square foot tasting room and retail area complete with custom art installations, bar, furniture, and a small retro video arcade. In the spring, we plan on adding an outdoor patio to the lineup. Come on over, grab a beer, and say Hi! Cheers!”

Random: This is a year-round beer.

This beer poured with a half finger of white head that dissipated at a moderate pace and left some lacing on the glass. The body was very cloudy and bright yellow. I couldn’t see much carbonation due to the cloudiness. The nose was filled with orange juice and pineapple and mango. It was quite fragrant. The taste was much of the same. I picked up orange rind and orange juice and then pineapple and mango. The body was on the thicker side for the style with generous carbonation. It had a lengthy and sticky finish with orange juice. I loved this beer. It had so much bright citrus and went down easily. I would definitely have this again.

Proclamation Process/Progress #13

Recently, I’ve posted a lot of reviews from breweries I’ve never tried before. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to visit some of them soon, since their in the Northeast.

Style: American Double/Imperial IPA

Random: This was another beer gift.

The beer poured with a thick, pure white head that was about three fingers thick. It dissipated at a moderate pace and left some lacing on the glass. The body was cloudy and a dark yellow color. I could see some carbonation through the haze. The nose was bright and very fruity. I got a lot of pineapple and mango juice up front. There was also peach nectar along with orange and tangerines. There was a hint of a malt smell as well. The taste was a total juice bomb, much like the nose. I got oranges, grapefruit, tangerine and pineapples. There was a creaminess to it as well. The malt came through and provided a little sweetness at the end. The body was on the heavier side with moderate carbonation. It had a lengthy and juicy finish. I thought this beer was too aggressive with the juice. I wouldn’t rush back to have it again.
