This was a guest tap at Vault that Val ordered. Normally, Vault only has their own beers, but it was nice to see a cider offering there. This cider is from Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania and was opened three years ago. I’ve never seen their cider on draft anywhere and it looks like they have three varieties. One of them is a cherry pie variety, which I would love to try. The website shows that a lot of my favorite Philly bars carry their products. I guess I need to start paying more attention to the ciders on tap. Let’s see how this one went.

ABV: 6.7%

Style: Cider

Trivia: According to the brewery website, “Our Stone & Key Cellars Solebury Orchard Blends are crisp, off dry and very refreshing!”

Random: One of my only complaints about Vault is how dark the place is. I can never get a true handle on the color of a beer or cider.

This cider poured with absolutely no head on top of a clear, yellow body. It had moderate carbonation visible and there was no lacing left on the glass. The nose was quite fragrant with apple sweetness, white grapes and apple skins. The taste was equally pleasing, with sweet, red apples, pear and white grapes. It was a really dry cider, which I enjoyed. The body was thin with moderate carbonation. It had a moderately long apple finish. I found this to be very easy-drinking and one that I would have again, although the flavors didn’t have much depth past the apple notes.
