When I saw this beer, I knew that we had to have it. We have three cats and the two older cats are pudgy orange cats and when we got our youngest, he immediately wanted to be friends, but the orange cats (Simcoe and Citra) weren’t sure. Now, they get along really well, but this beer reminds me of that time.
ABV: 8%
Style: New England IPA
Trivia: According to the brewery website, “Here at Hoof Hearted Brewing we’ve been turning tanks like cassette tapes since late 2011. Known throughout the industry for our deft hop-wrangling and nude air guitar prowess, we do everything we can to provide fresh, high-quality (and sometimes hi-test) liquid to help you get the party poppin’.”
Random: We were discussing what an eight-track was and based on the pictures I saw, I don’t think I’ve ever seen one.
The beer poured with a two finger, thick, pure white head. It dissipated quickly and left some lacing on the glass. The body was very cloudy and bright yellow in color. There was no carbonation visible because of the haziness. The nose was strong and had lots of tropical fruit. Specifically, I got ripe mango. There was also a generous amount of citrus. The taste was equally bright. I picked up a lot of grapefruit flesh and pith and some oranges as well. It then went into big tropical fruit notes with lots of mango. There was some pineapple juice in there as well. The body was on the lighter side with a lot of carbonation. It had a lengthy finish with tropical fruit. I enjoyed this beer a lot. It was bright and fresh and juicy and I would definitely have it again.
