Rolling Rock Extra Pale

So, for one of the first times, I went out to a bar that supposedly had a decent beer list and had reviewed every craft beer that they had. Well, that was the start of a bad experience at this place. First of all, this place advertises themselves as a sports bar. I went to watch the Phillies game on Saturday. Now, it was the 4:15 game, so it was on Fox. Every bar gets Fox. I had to ask them 5 times to put the game on. But, I could watch all the tennis and horse racing that I wanted. Seriously? Second of all, their beer list hadn’t been updated since the spring, so every beer I ordered was no longer available. Then, I had this beer…which just capped off the reasons I won’t be back to this place. I ended up at Chickie’s and Petes to watch the rest of the game…and crab fries make everything better. So, onto the beer. And yes, my buddy is giving the beer “evil” bunny ears.

ABV: 4.6%

Style: American Adjunct Lager

Trivia: Arnold Palmer was born in Latrobe, PA, where Rolling Rock is from.

Random: My father used to drink this beer and would tell me every time he had it that Palmer was born there.

This brew poured with a barely there white head on a clear, straw yellow body. The head dissipated almost instantly and left no lacing on the glass. There was also moderate visible carbonation on the brew. I got almost nothing on the nose. Maybe some grass and a little bit of hops? The taste was even worse. It was just over carbonated and blah. I got a little grass and some unpleasant sweetness at the end. The finish was quick and unremarkable. It was almost a struggle to finish this. I would take a Bud Light over this any day. Avoid…
